Find Green Dream Jobs,,,,,,

Last year, the news on the U.S. job front has been especially bleak for recent college graduates. Many aspiring executives have yet to line up an entry-level assignment; according to a report in today’s New York Times, thousands accepted jobs that pay poorly or do not require a college degree.

New grads we have spoken to are understandably anxious about the weeks and months that lie ahead. And those with thousands of dollars in student loans to pay off, the anxiety turns to dread.

One’s transition from college to the management executive ranks should be a time of excitement about endless career and life possibilities. And yet, Millennials–with their newly minted diplomas–wonder if they will ever land a great job.

To the thousands of new grads seeking employment, we say hang in there–better days lie ahead.

In the U.S. and across the globe, a New Green Economy is taking shape. Its sustained growth will be achieved by tapping your boundless enthusiasm, your smarts, and your desire to do well and do right by making the world a better place. This New Green Economy will have sturdy roots; it will drive growth for the next thirty to forty years!

Eco-entrepreneurs are recognizing that fortunes will be made across a vast green business landscape. And already, millions of dollars in venture capital has flowed to greentech start ups and early-stage companies that are bringing to market new technologies for creating and storing renewable energy, achieving energy efficiency, and driving resource sustainability. Successful eco- entrepreneurial enterprises that hit pay dirt will provide most of the economy’s new "green dream jobs".

Better days do lie ahead.

GREEN DREAM JOBS

The term “green dream jobs” is usually assumed to refer to work in conservation, environmental remediation, recycling or other similar fields. But when we speak about "green dream jobs", we’re referring to something a little different. The  "green dream jobs" we speak of include jobs in manufacturing, construction, and trades.

Often, talk of the green economy focuses on innovation and "clean tech." Without doubt, innovation will be necessary as we move through this transition. But the greening of our economy will impact virtually every aspect of our lives and our work, plus it will create thousands of jobs as we build the infrastructure and goods we need in order to transition to a low-carbon, sustainable world. The Green Economy needs:
  • concrete formers, solar panel installers and wind turbine technicians to install and operate renewable energy projects
  • skilled machinists, fabricators, and tool and dye workers to manufacture the components for these technologies.
  • construction workers to build green buildings and thousands of labourers to green the buildings we already have
  • small business owners to sell local and sustainable goods, farmers to grow our food, and many other skilled workers.
